internships

As an adult, he has tried to 'pay it forward' by providing internships to high school, community college, university & graduate school students. Given the off-site nature of the internships (students are able to do their assignments from their own home or dorm room), the interns have lived and gone to school in many locations. In addition to more traditional internships, Greg has provided mini-internships that last a couple weeks or even just a day or two. In the latter instances (i.e. Baltimore Book Festival), a selected student who attends school near an event where Greg will be speaking is given the opportunity to attend the event and serve as his helper at the function. In this capacity, their responsibilities include tasks such as interacting with attendees, assisting with a book sale/signing & taking pictures during the event. SCROLL DOWN FOR NEXT PARAGRAPH

During the more traditional internships, the interns' roles & responsibilities vary from intern to intern (and from day to day). Sometimes, the interns assist with this website. Other times, they have helped with tasks like event planning, proofreading, media interactions, correspondence, research or they have helped him on a civic or philanthropic initiative. The internships typically last a semester. In some cases, the internships have been extended, by mutual decision, for multiple semesters.
