In college, Greg received a summer internship. As an adult, he has tried to 'pay it forward' by providing internships to high school, community college, university & graduate school students. The internships are off-site (students do assignments from their own home or dorm room). So, the interns have lived & gone to school in many locations. The high school interns have come from places like Wisconsin and Florida. The college & graduate school interns have come from schools like UC-Berkeley and Central College. SCROLL DOWN
Interns' roles & responsibilities vary from intern to intern (and day to day). Most assignments involve research. Sometimes, the interns assist with this website. Other times, they help with tasks like event planning, proofreading, and correspondence, or they help Greg with a civic or philanthropic initiative. The internships typically last a semester. In some cases, the internships have been extended, by mutual decision, for multiple semesters. SCROLL DOWN
In addition to the off-site internships that last a semester or longer, Greg has occasionally provided 'mini-internships' that take place in person and last just a day or two. For the 'mini-internships', a selected student who goes to school near an event or conference where Greg will be speaking attends the event / conference & handles on-site responsibilities such as assisting with a book signing (See Photo from Baltimore Book Festival as an example). During the pandemic, Greg has continued to provide more off-site internships to students around the country. To read feedback from previous interns, click here.
