Greg has hosted more than 300 group meals to bring communities together. At times, he also has spoken at events related to these topics. For example: In advance of Thanksgiving 2017, Greg served as guest speaker at "Food For Thought" - an event hosted by Kishwaukee College. As noted in their event material: To start the day, students and staff/faculty who were available joined Greg for a group meal. Then, he gave a presentation focused on the value of shared meals, some of the concrete, tangible ways that students (and staff) in attendance could coordinate meals on their own campus, and some of the specific things they can do while hosting shared meals to make the most of the opportunity for those at the table. After the event, the school gave out copies of The First Thirty to some of the attendees as a surprise take-home gift.
