books - health/fitness
The books based on Greg's story -- The First Thirty and expanded version The Silhouette Man -- highlight sports in a positive light as well as sports-relevant lessons related to leadership, teamwork, work ethic, perseverance & diversity that can be reinforced off the field. The First Thirty was NSDLC Multicultural Relations Book of the Year. A Place To Sit is the companion workbook that can be used with either book. It extracts the story's lessons and provides related projects, questions & ideas - including ones about Sports as well as others about related topics like leadership, teamwork & dealing with physical obstacles. College & pro sports teams & health & fitness-related organizations & camps have ordered copies of the books &/or workbooks for their own staff, team members, clients, donors, beneficiaries, local students in their respective communities &/or as gifts. In some cases, they have also sponsored contests based on the book in their communities. (scroll down)
