The Legacy Poem was first written by Greg in 1996. It summarized what he hoped to accomplish in the community, the legacy he hoped to create by making those efforts, and the appreciation he had for those he hoped would become part of the process along the way. It was intentionally written in a broad way so that it applied to the ability any person has to leave a legacy. Over the next 12 years, Greg tweaked words here and there, but the overall essence of the poem remained unchanged. Finally, in 2008, he deemed the poem 'complete'. The poem is set in the backdrop of a photo he took while serving as American Scholar in Residence in Africa. The photo shows the sun over the waterfront, while on a ferry en route to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held captive for many years. The poster is 18x24, full color. In conjunction with a conference for educators where Greg was booked to speak, organizers ordered copies of The  First Thirty and A Place To Sit posters to give to attendees. A middle school Principal in Canada (left) ordered a copy of the Thirty Lessons poster for every classroom in her building (as well as copies of The First Thirty poster). A nonprofit organization in the Midwest ordered copies of  the Legacy poster for selected donors. A university ordered copies of the Legacy poster to put around campus to further its efforts to promote diversity & inclusion. A woman on the East Coast ordered copies of the Legacy Poster for friends and family as holiday gifts. A company in Canada ordered copies of the Legacy poster for some of its executives.
