fellowships - residencies
Greg has served as Scholar or Fellow for - &/or worked with Scholars or Fellows in- different schools, programs & institutes in the U.S., Canada & Africa. In some cases, his primary role has revolved around teaching. For instance, a civic engagement program brought a group of students & adults to South Africa. They chose The First Thirty as the group's common read & retained Greg to serve as Scholar-in-Residence for the program. In another instance, a university got copies of The Silhouette Man for a selected group of diverse scholars and had Greg take part in a lunch discussion with them. In another instance, he served as Scholar-in-Residence for the Day at a community college in Canada. He was the closing presenter at the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Junior Conference. For two consecutive years, a Fellows program in Pennsylvania had its participants read The First Thirty & had Greg speak with them at a retreat. Other groups that have ordered the book for internal or external use include groups like University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's University Innovation Fellows. In other cases, Greg's primary role has revolved around learning. For instance, he was invited to be one of the 2013 Aspen Ideas Festival Scholars -- which gave him the opportunity to listen to, learn from & spend time with figures like Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer (pictured here).
