film & theater
As a boy, Greg spent many childhood weekends at the local movie theater under the watchful eye of his godfather -- who worked as the projectionist. In the process, he fell in love with 'storytelling' and the way such stories can change the way people think. His favorite films have included Rocky, Forrest Gump, Defiance, Life is Beautiful, Flash of Genius, To Kill a Mockingbird, Crash, Big, Schindler's List, A Beautiful Mind, Big Fish, Risky Business, E.T., Boyz n the Hood, Secret of my Success, Shawshank Redemption, Lean on Me, Dead Poets Society, Godfather, Willy Wonka, Remember the Titans, Cocktail, Hoosiers, The Natural, A Bronx Tale, Hotel Rwanda, Stand and Deliver, Hurricane, Gandhi, Castaway, Stripes, Lucas, Primary Colors, Rainman and Field of Dreams. On the night of Greg's 30th birthday, Loews Cineplex Entertainment hosted a one night only sneak preview of his first film. A short time later, The Washington Post ran a story profiling Greg and Steven Spielberg, comparing their educational experiences, their career paths and their legacies. In the fall of 2010, Greg accepted an invitation to transform the book based on his story into a one man play for the evening.
