film & theater
As a boy, Greg spent many childhood weekends at the local movie theater under the watchful eye of his godfather -- who worked as the projectionist. In the process, he fell in love with 'storytelling' & the way films (& stories in general) change the way people think. His favorite films have included Rocky, Forrest Gump, Defiance, Life is Beautiful, To Kill a Mockingbird, Crash, Big, Schindler's List, A Beautiful Mind, Big Fish, Risky Business, E.T., Boyz n the Hood, Secret of my Success, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Shawshank Redemption, Lean on Me, Dead Poets Society, Godfather, Willy Wonka, Remember the Titans, Flash of Genius, Cocktail, The Natural, 12 Years a Slave, Hoosiers, Gran Torino, A Bronx Tale, Hotel Rwanda, Stand & Deliver, Gandhi, Stripes, Lucas, Primary Colors, Rainman & Field of Dreams. On the night of Greg's 30th birthday, Loews Cineplex Entertainment hosted a one night only sneak preview of his first film. A short time later, The Washington Post ran a story profiling Greg and Steven Spielberg, comparing their educational experiences, their career paths and their legacies. Over the years, Greg has received invitations to transform the book based on his story into a one man play for the evening.
