jerry maguire

In the classic film starring Tom Cruise, sports agent Jerry Maguire sits down one sleepless night and spontaneously writes a lengthy memo that captures the essence of what he hopes and believes about his industry and the relationships within it.  Over the years, greg has had a couple 'jerry maguire' moments.   Shortly after college and moving into his first apartment, Greg sat down on his balcony, looking out at the neighborhood where he would soon begin working as an educator and wrote a poem titled Legacy - describing what he believed a simple man could do to make a difference in the community.  Twelve years later, that poem became the basis of the Legacy Poster.  A year or so later, Greg sat down late one night in a booth at a restaurant/bar and, on the back of a menu, wrote out what would become the Mission Statement for the Brunch Bunch Mentoring Program.  A decade after that, following his stint as American Scholar in Residence for a program in Africa, Greg wrote a journal about the unlikely path that led him to another continent and the relevant business lessons that could be extracted from that story.  That journal became a guest column in a business magazine in Canada. Click here to read that column (please note: the email address at the end of the article is no longer valid. To reach Greg, please just scroll up & view the Contact tab in the menu on this website).
