Beth's During-the-Pandemic Intergenerational Book Club
The Silhouette Man tells the story of a young person trying to reach his dreams and help other people reach their own & the grandparent who mentors him. It was honored in Canada as a book that celebrates the wisdom of seniors. The condensed version for 5th thru 12th grade students - The First Thirty - was NSDLC Multicultural Relations Book of the Year. The Milkshake Man is the illustrated version for K-4th grade reading level. Each book also has a companion workbook (A Place To Sit for The Silhouette Man or The First Thirty, One Lunch for The Milkshake Man)
As a way to bring people together around a positive story during a challenging time, Beth has arranged for some of the residents & staff at the community for older adults where she works to read the books this Spring. And Beth would love for you & your kids & grandkids to participate, too! And since there is a different version of the story for each age range, anyone from Kindergarten to Senior Citizen can participate!
This link provides a way for you to get copies of any of the books or companion workbooks for yourselves, your kids & grandkids - and - support the senior community that Beth is proud to serve.
If you, your family, your company, you organization or school order any copies of the books or workbooks through this Shop link in May 2020, you'll receive an email asking if your order was affiliated with / in support of a specific organization. As long as you respond to that email within 10 days & reference "Beth G" or "the senior community where she works", 10% of your purchase will be donated to the senior community where Beth works, to support their residents & staff. In that same response, you also can note if you'd like the books/workbooks signed to anyone.
